In the lesson 10 we learned about perfect tenses, and in the lesson 11 we learned about subjunctive. The perfect subjunctive is used in the same types and clauses as non-perfect subjunctive.

The formula of perfect subjunctive is also the same:

HABER + past PARTICIPLE

In order to form perfective form of subjunctive, all you need to know is conjugation of HABER in subjunctive mood:

Examples

Ellos esperan que  tú hayas salido temprano – They hope that you have left early

Si mi hermana lo hubiera sabido, yo le habría preguntado – If my sister had known it, I would have asked her

Se podría haber sido mejor si hubieses movido la mesa ahí – It would be better if you have moved the table there

Mi madre dudó que yo hubiese ido a la escuela – My mom doubted that I went to school

Es posible que ella me hubiera llamado – It is possible that she has called me

No estoy seguro que ellos hubieran vivido en Estados Unidos – I am not sure that they have lived in United States

No es verdad que Juan haya estado en esa conferencia – It is not true that Juan has been to this conference

Su profesor recomienda que lo hayamos leído – Their professor recommends that we have read it

¿Si hubieses tenido el dinero ayer podrías haber ido con nosotros? – If you had money yesterday, would you be able to go with us?

Si hubieses estudiado más español, ahora entenderías mejor – If you had studied more Spanish, now you would understand better

  2. Quiero que lo  (SABER – to know) – I want You(Ustedes) to have known it
  3. Ojalá ellos lo  (TERMINAR – to end) – Hopefully they have ended it
  4. Tal vez Daniela  el dinero (GASTAR – to spend) – Maybe Daniela has spent the money
  5. Quiero creer que mi hijo una vez como hacerlo (OÍR – to hear) – I want to believe that my son has heard once how to do it
  6. Es posible él no  todavía (DESPERTARSE – to wake up) – It is possible that he has not woken up yet
  7. Espero que ellos ya  (REUNIRSE – to meet) – I hope that they have already met
